Available in grey and gold color options, the aluminum body lends a premium-ness. Thin bezels maximize screen real estate while keeping the overall size manageable. Build quality seems robust for a budget tablet.

Display

The 10.4-inch LCD panel sports a resolution of 1200 x 2000 pixels which provides decent clarity for media consumption and document editing. At 224PPI, texts and graphics appear reasonably sharp.

Brightness levels of up to 360 nits allow comfortable viewing outdoors as well. Colours seem natural albeit not as vivid as OLED. Viewing angles are adequate but not best-in-class. Overall the display seems passable for this price point.

Performance

Powering the Realme Pad is the MediaTek Helio G80 chipset with up to 6GB RAM. For general usage like browsing, video calls, and multimedia playback, performance is respectable.

However, more demanding games may show some frame drops. Storage options range from 32GB to 128GB and can be further expanded via microSD. Overall, expect entry-level tablet-grade performance.

Cameras

For selfies and video calls, an 8MP front shooter will handle basic needs well enough. The single rear 8MP camera allows the scanning of documents and QR codes.

Recording maxes out at Full HD 30fps which is standard at this level. Photo/video quality is average but sufficient for lightweight usage like social media.

Battery Life

A sizable 7,100mAh cell provides longevity for all-day usage on a single charge. The 18W fast charging also helps top up quickly when needed. Stamina is a clear strength here.

OS and Software

Running Android 11, the interface feels clean and fluid. Realme UI adds some nice productivity features like dual windows. Updates remain uncertain long term though.

Verdict

With a price tag of around $160, the Realme Pad offers a well-rounded budget tablet experience. From solid battery to decent performance – it succeeds on the fundamentals for daily usage like media, learning, and basic content creation.

Casual users looking for an entry-level yet capable Android tablet won’t be disappointed here. Build quality and screen could be better but at this cost, Realme Pad strikes a great balance overall.
