Realme has recently launched its latest budget smartphone, the C51, targeting first-time buyers on a tight budget. Sporting capable specs and a giant battery, let’s take a closer look at what it has to offer.

Design and Build

The Realme C51 sports a simple yet stylish design made of plastic. It features curved edges and a minimalist aesthetic. Measuring 167.2 x 76.7 x 8mm and weighing 186 grams, the C51 is comfortable to hold despite its large 6.74-inch display. Realme has opted for a side-mounted fingerprint reader integrated into the power button for biometric authentication.

Upfront is a sizable IPS LCD screen with HD+ resolution and a waterdrop notch. Image quality should be decent outdoors thanks to peak 560-nit brightness levels. Overall build quality appears solid for the price without feeling too cheap or fragile.

Hardware and Performance

Under the hood sits the Unisoc Tiger T612 chipset with an octa-core CPU featuring Arm Cortex cores. This budget processor is paired with up to 6GB RAM and 256GB storage. In regular usage like social media, browsing, and light gaming, performance holds up well without noticeable lag.

We expect handling more graphics-intensive games at high settings to be a push. The Mali-G57 GPU can likely handle casual 3D titles smoothly. Early benchmark scores align with expectations for an entry-level chip. Storage options up to 256GB also ensure ample room for files, photos, and apps.

Cameras

For photography needs, the C51 sports a single 50MP rear camera with f/1.8 aperture and PDAF. An auxiliary 0.08MP lens assists with depth effects. Selfies are captured using a 5MP front shooter.

While megapixel counts are good on paper, picture quality depends on post-processing calibrations which we will evaluate. Video recording maxes out at 1080p30 which should be good enough for casual sharing.

Battery Life

One area the C51 really stands out is its massive 5000mAh battery. Realme claims up to 2 days of regular usage on a full charge. Even heavy users can expect 1.5 days easily.

To quickly top up that huge cell, the C51 comes with 33W fast charging support. Realme says a 0-50% charge takes only 28 minutes. A full charge in roughly an hour makes refueling convenient without long waits.

Software and Pricing

Out of the box, the C51 ships with Android 13-based Realme UI T software loaded with customizations. Pricing starts from just BDT 12,999 for the entry-level 4GB+64GB model – extremely competitive considering the large display and mammoth battery.
