With a plastic build and glass front, the C35 weighs just 189g making it comfortable to hold for long periods. Though its 8.1mm profile isn’t the slimmest, overall ergonomics are good.

Available in Glowing Black and Green colors, it has a generic no-frills look but feels robust enough. Button placement is also well thought out with the side-mounted fingerprint reader doubling as a power key.

Display

Upfront is a 6.6-inch IPS LCD screen with FHD+ resolution. Colours appear reasonably vivid while sunlight legibility of around 480 nits is decent enough for outdoors.

At a 20:9 aspect ratio, the tall panel is ideal for videos and browsing. Panda glass provides basic scratch protection too. Though not the best, the overall viewing experience is pleasant given the low price tag.

Hardware and Performance

Powering the budget C35 is Unisoc’s octa-core Tiger T616 chipset paired with up to 6GB RAM. For regular activities like social media, browsing, and calls, performance is snappy enough.

Multitasking is handled smoothly while basic 3D games run fine. Storage options max out at 128GB which provides ample space. Realme UI 2.0’s clean software complements the mid-range hardware nicely.

Cameras

The triple rear camera setup is headlined by a 50MP main unit. Photos take decent well-lit shots but noise creeps in quickly under artificial lighting. Selfies from the 8MP front cam are average for casual video calls.

Video recording maxes out at 1080p30 which is sufficient for casual captures. Low light performance could be better optimized.

Battery Life

The 5000mAh cell paired with the power-efficient T616 SoC delivers over a day of moderate usage comfortably on a single charge. At 18W, charging from empty to full takes over 2 hours which is fairly average. Standby time is also good lasting 2-3 days with light usage between charges.

Pricing and Verdict

Priced around $100-130/£130 depending on markets, the C35 provides dependable features at an affordable cost for basic daily users. Reliable performance, good screen, and big battery make it a capable daily driver.

Build quality could be better but Realme offers frequent and timely software updates. Overall it succeeds in delivering the core essentials one expects from a budget phone at terrific value for money. Highly recommended!
