Ergonomics are decent thanks to rounded edges, though build quality isn’t the most premium. Button placement is suitable with the side-mounted fingerprint reader doubling as a power key.

Display

Upfront is a 6.6-inch LCD screen with FHD+ resolution and butter-smooth 120Hz refresh rate. Colors appear vibrantly while a maximum brightness of 600nits allows good sunlight legibility.

The 20:9 aspect ratio gives an immersive view. With slim bezels all around, the 84.4% screen-to-body ratio enhances the visual experience. Overall, fluid visuals are on offer.

Hardware and Performance

Powering the device is the Snapdragon 695 5G chip paired with 6/8GB RAM and 128GB storage. For regular tasks, apps load quickly and performance is smooth without lags.

Gaming is handled well thanks to the capable Adreno 619 GPU. Popular titles run smoothly at high settings. Additional RAM also aids in intensive multitasking. Storage can be expanded via microSD.

Cameras

The triple rear cameras are headlined by a versatile 64MP main sensor. Photos capture ample details in good lighting while noise creeps in low-light shots.

An 8MP ultra-wide and 2MP macro add more flexibility. Selfies from the 16MP front camera are finely detailed too. Video maxes out at 1080p30 which is decent for the price.

Battery Life

The 5000mAh battery paired with Snapdragon 695’s efficiency delivers over a day of moderate usage comfortably. At 33W, full charging takes around an hour which is quite fast. Even with 120Hz turned on, standby time averaging 2-3 days is very good. The bundled 33W charger complements the phone excellently well.

Verdict

Priced around $200/£400, the Realme 9 Pro offers a good mix of features and specifications at an affordable cost point. Reliable performance combined with versatile cameras and fast charging makes it a sensible mid-range option.

Build quality and low-light photos could be improved. But overall, it succeeds as a capable daily driver for average users seeking value for money. Strongly recommended!
