Realme continues to strengthen its portfolio with the launch of the new Realme 10. Priced affordably, does this mid-range phone offer good value? Let’s dig deeper.

Design and Build

The Realme 10 has a familiar design language we’ve seen before. It features a plastic back and frame wrapped around a 6.4-inch screen up front. Available in White and Blue colors, the phone sports a sleek aesthetic.

At 159.9×73.3x8mm and weighing 178g, it has a comfortable in-hand feel. Build quality is good for the price using durable plastic materials. The side-mounted fingerprint sensor is a nice inclusion too. Overall, the 10 has a well-crafted but generic look.

Display

The 6.4-inch Super AMOLED display is one highlight. It has FHD+ resolution, 90Hz refresh rate and peaks at 1000nits of brightness. Images come alive with vibrant colors and inky blacks thanks to AMOLED technology.

The high refresh rate and peak brightness also ensure smooth scrolling and outdoor legibility. Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection further enhances durability. It’s a great screen that outperforms many rivals in this price range.

Performance

Powering the Realme 10 is the MediaTek Helio G99 chip built on a 6nm manufacturing process. This octa-core chipset showed no signs of slowdown during regular tasks. Gaming was smooth too with the Mali-G57 MC2 GPU.

Models with up to 8GB RAM/256GB storage provide ample power and memory headroom. Realme UI 3.0 based on Android 12 offered a clean software experience too. Benchmark scores backed the Helio G99’s capable performance credentials.

Cameras

The dual rear camera packs a 50MP primary and 2MP depth sensor. Photos taken in daylight came out with good amounts of detail, while noise crept in low-light shots.

For selfies, the 16MP front camera captured excellent images. It can record 1080p videos at 30fps from both cameras. While not class-leading, the camera delivers well for casual photos in varied lighting environments.

Battery Life

A 5000mAh battery cell inside the Realme 10 easily sails through a full day on a single charge. With moderate usage, the phone still had 25% power left at the end of the day and about 6 hours of screen time.

33W fast charging topped the sizable battery up to 50% in just 28 minutes as advertised. Long battery life and decent fast charging are major strengths.

Conclusion

Priced around $159/₹10,000, the Realme 10 gives you a lot for your money including an AMOLED display, a capable processor, and marathon battery life. While not perfect, it certainly is a very good affordable mid-range option for most users. Realme once again offers terrific value here.
