Realme added a new model to its budget C series with the launch of Realme C20A in Bangladesh. Priced at BDT 8,990, does it provide good value for money? Here’s a detailed analysis.

Design and Build

The C20A features a plastic build that feels durable despite its lightweight 190g frame. Measuring 165.2×76.4×8.9mm, it fits comfortably in the palm. Available in Iron Grey and Lake Blue colors, the design does not stand out but looks clean. Build quality seems acceptable for a phone in this price range.

Display

The Realme C20A 6.5-inch HD+ IPS display has a resolution of 720×1600 pixels. Though not sharp, images and text are legible. Maximum brightness of 400nits is adequate indoors. With an 80% screen-to-body ratio, the dewdrop notch blends in well. Colors appear balanced for regular use but viewing angles could have been wider.

Performance

Powering the Realme C20A is the MediaTek Helio G35 chip paired with 2GB RAM which handles basic tasks without lags. Multitasking has limitations but the occasional app switching works fine. Graphics are manageable for light games. Benchmark scores are fair given their humble specifications. Overall performance met expectations.

Camera

An 8MP rear camera does a decent job in good lighting capturing photos with acceptable details. 5MP selfies from the front camera are average as well. 1080p video recording quality is passable. Low-light photography is below average as expected. But imaging capabilities are satisfactory at this price point.

Battery Life

A sizable 5000mAh battery keeps the device running for 1.5-2 days on average usage including 3-4 hours of talk-time, music streaming, messaging and occasional light gaming. 30W charging support is missing but it charges fully in around 2 hours using a standard charger which is acceptable.

Priced at BDT 8,990, the Realme C20A offers the necessities for first-time smartphone users or those on a tight budget. While not a powerhouse, it performs well enough for general tasks and delivers great battery endurance. Recommended!
